Scroll Stopper

Stop the scroll. For yourself or your kid.

One app. Three ways to use it.

Pick how you'll use Scroll Stopper. Switch any time without losing your data.

🎯

Just me

Lock yourself out of distracting apps for minutes, hours, or days. One emergency override per day with a 60-second cooldown — so you can't bail at the first urge.

👨‍👩‍👧

For my kid

Pair your phone with theirs once. Push lock rules from your dashboard. Get tamper alerts. Approve "more time" requests with one tap.

📱

I'm being managed

What the kid sees on their phone. Shows what's locked, how long, and a polite "ask my parent for more time" button when there's a real reason.

Set it up in under 60 seconds.

No accounts. No emails. No passwords. Just install and go.

1

Install on both phones

One quick download per device from Google Play.

2

Tap "Pair a phone"

Your phone shows a 6-digit code.

3

Type the code

On your kid's phone. Done — you're connected.

4

Push a rule

"Lock TikTok for 2 hours." Applies in ~30 seconds.

Everything you actually need. Nothing you don't.

Most parental control apps bury 12 features under 47 menus. Scroll Stopper does the few things that matter, well.

Quick presets

30 min, 1 hr, 2 hr, 4 hr, 8 hr, 24 hr. One tap to lock — no menus.

🛡

PIN-protected

Kids can't switch modes or unpair their device without the parent PIN.

Tamper detection

If your kid disables the app, you get an instant red warning on your dashboard.

Scheduled locks

"Block Instagram every weeknight from 9 PM to 7 AM." Set it once. Done.

🙋

Time request flow

Kid taps "Ask for more time," writes a reason, you approve from your phone.

🔔

5-min heads-up

Notification before your own lock unlocks, so you can wrap up what you're doing.

🚪

Emergency override

One per day, gated by a 60-second think-it-over countdown. Hard enough to skip on impulse.

📊

Focus stats

See how much time you've locked yourself out and build a streak.

🌐

No accounts

No email, no name, no signup. Just install and pair.

Privacy first. Not as a marketing line.

We can't see your data even if we tried. Each device has an anonymous account ID, and our database physically prevents anyone but you and the people you've paired with from reading your rows.

  • No name, email, phone number, or location collected — ever.
  • No third-party trackers, ad SDKs, or analytics.
  • The app never reads your messages, browsing, photos, or other apps' contents.
  • Your PIN is hashed on-device with a random salt before it ever leaves your phone.
  • Tap "Delete my data" in-app — your account is wiped from our servers in seconds.

Common questions.

If yours isn't here, email us at support@getscrollstopper.com.

Is Scroll Stopper free?
Yes — the app is fully free at launch. We'll add an optional premium tier later (around $3.99/month or $19.99/year) for power-user features like multi-kid management and unlimited scheduling. The core experience will always stay free.
What if my kid uninstalls the app?
You'll see a "Last active X ago" warning on your dashboard within a day, with a clear flag if it's been 48+ hours. You can also lock your kid's phone with a Device Admin permission (coming soon) so they can't uninstall without the parent PIN.
Does it work on iPhone?
Not yet — Android only at launch. iOS has stricter app-blocking limits, so an iOS version will need a different approach. On our roadmap.
Can my kid get around the block?
Like every parental control app on a consumer phone, a determined kid can disable accessibility services or uninstall. The difference is we tell you immediately when they do — within seconds for disabled services, within a day for uninstall. No app fully prevents bypass on a standard Android phone, but we make bypass loud and visible.
Do you sell my data?
No. We don't sell it, share it with advertisers, or use it for anything other than running the app. Read our privacy policy for the specifics.
Can I lock apps on my own phone too?
Yes. The "Just me" mode lets you lock yourself out of distracting apps for any duration up to 7 days. Great for deep work, study sessions, or breaking a doom-scroll habit.
How long until my kid's lock takes effect?
Usually under 30 seconds. The kid's phone polls our server frequently, applies the new rule, and the locked apps start bouncing back to home immediately.
What if I forget my PIN?
On your own phone, you can reset the PIN from Settings → Forgot PIN. No identity verification needed — we trust that if you're holding the phone, you're the owner.
